About the School

Ihsan Academy is an independent, full time, Islamic school offering grades primary – 12.

Ihsan Academy is registered as a private school with the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Childhood Development.

Ihsan Academy adheres to the Nova Scotia curriculum for core subjects, and also provides Islamic education

Nurturing the Whole Child

The Academy follows a holistic approach to learning, seeking to nurture body, mind and spirit by engaging students not only intellectually, but also actively and emotionally. Emphasis is placed on hands-on learning and skill building. Learning is enriched by frequent field trips and extracurricular activities. The goal is to recognize and nurture each individual child’s inherent talents, while encouraging new experiences and creativity.

Education

Heading towards an ever-changing and uncertain future, we seek to equip students with the tools of learning, specifically: a strong base in language, how to use it, how to critically analyze information, and how to express oneself elegantly and persuasively. In addition to the Nova Scotia curriculum, students are offered Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic. By instilling Islamic morals on a daily basis, we seek to build responsible, productive citizens with a strong sense of social justice, and the confidence to make a positive effect on the world.

Ihsan

Ihsan is an Arabic word that captures the aspiration of this school, and is the goal of every believer. Ihsan is excellence, beauty, good character, purity, sincerity, motivation, and goodness in the fullest sense. Ihsan Academy is a place where each student is encouraged to strive for Ihsan/excellence in everything they do, from worship to academics to character, and beyond.
